Honda City Diesel Price in India, Honda City Diesel 2011 Review

One of India’s leading car manufactures Honda is planning to launch Honda City in Diesel in India. Honda is said to be developing a new diesel engine for Honda City. Globally, Honda has only one diesel engine, 2.2 litre iDTEC engine which is developed for European markets. But for India Honda has to develop a new diesel engine with a capacity of 1.4 litre -1.6 litre to match Indian conditions and to give better mileage.

Honda motors is also planning to develop a car smaller than Brio with a price tag of less than Rs 5 lakh in India. Honda City leads the petrol segment for over a decade and importing a diesel city does not seem to be a viable option for the company and hence they need to come up with new diesel engine built in India to over come its competitors.

Currently VW Vento is topping the segment and there is tough competition from the newly launched Fluidic Verna 2011 and 2011 Fiesta. Volkswagen has sold 3,973 units of Vento in March 2011.
